As part of the Orientation Programme 2026, the first-year B.Arch and B.Design students of the Faculty of Architecture, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, participated in a creative and engaging Personalized Bookmark Making Activity.
The activity provided students with a simple yet meaningful platform to express their imagination, individuality, and passion for learning. Through colours, patterns, illustrations, and creative ideas, each student designed a personalized bookmark that reflected their unique personality and perspective.
Beyond being a creative exercise, the activity encouraged self-expression, interaction, and collaboration among the new students. It gave them an opportunity to connect with their peers, share ideas, and begin building new friendships in a welcoming and inspiring environment.
The activity also introduced students to the idea that creativity can be found in everyday objects and experiences. A simple bookmark became a canvas for personal expression, reminding students that design is not only about creating spaces but also about finding beauty and meaning in the details around us.
As the students begin their academic journey, these personalized bookmarks serve as more than just reading companions—they represent the first pages of a new chapter filled with learning, creativity, friendships, and endless possibilities.
