The third-year B.Arch students of the Faculty of Architecture, Dr. M.G.R. University recently undertook a case study visit on apartment housing, gaining valuable real-world exposure to the essentials of residential design.
The visit provided students with practical insights into how planning, structural systems, building services, and evolving market trends collectively shape the design and functionality of modern housing projects. By observing and analyzing these aspects on-site, students were able to connect classroom knowledge with practical applications, enhancing their understanding of how architecture responds to contemporary living needs.
Such field experiences not only strengthen technical knowledge but also nurture a holistic perspective—equipping future architects to design residential spaces that are functional, sustainable, and responsive to user demands.
