The viva voce this year unfolded as more than an assessment of design projects. For our external examiners, it became a moment of reflection — a chance to look back on their own student days while engaging with the fresh perspectives of our young architects.
Some spoke of how the work reminded them of late nights in studios, the nervous energy before juries, and the excitement of presenting bold ideas for the first time. Others shared how much they had learned from this generation, whose approaches to design, sustainability, and community revealed a refreshing openness and curiosity.
What emerged was a dialogue rather than a one-way evaluation. The examiners came to assess but left inspired, carrying with them the same spark of passion that first drew them to architecture. The viva, in the end, became less a conclusion and more a continuation — a shared journey of reflection and renewal across generations.
