Learning architecture goes beyond classrooms and textbooks—it’s about experiencing the essence of spaces and communities firsthand. Our second-year B.Arch students recently stepped into the village of Purisai as part of their Rural Study program, gaining invaluable insights into traditional planning and vernacular design.

Through close observation, they explored the culture, lifestyle, housing typologies, and spatial organization that define Purisai’s architectural identity. The journey offered students a deeper appreciation of how design evolves in harmony with climate, materials, and community needs.

This field experience not only sharpened their academic understanding but also nurtured their ability to connect theory with practice, preparing them to become architects who respect heritage while innovating for the future.
