Our third-year B.Arch students recently had the opportunity to step out of the classroom and into the world of real-world architecture with an insightful site visit to Marina Mall. Known for its modern design and innovative structural elements, the mall served as an excellent case study for budding architects.
During the visit, students explored the architectural layout, material usage, and functional design aspects of the mall. The experience allowed them to analyze how theoretical concepts such as space planning, structural engineering, and sustainability are implemented in large-scale commercial projects.
This hands-on exposure provided the students with a deeper understanding of practical design challenges and solutions, preparing them for their professional careers. By observing the intricate details of the Marina Mall’s architecture, they gained insights into integrating creativity with functionality.
Such site visits are an integral part of architectural education, bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application. The Marina Mall visit was both inspiring and enriching, leaving students eager to apply their newfound knowledge in future projects.
