The Faculty of Architecture (FOA) at MGR Educational and Research Institute is proud to welcome Architect Ponni M Concessao of OCI Architects Oscar & Ponni + Rahul as an external examiner for our University Practical Examination. With a distinguished career and over 151 awards, including the WADE Women Architects Achiever Award (2016) and the “Jewel of Chennai” award (2018), Architect Ponni’s contributions to the fields of architecture and interiors are truly remarkable.
Her impactful work spans significant projects such as the Prime Minister’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana project, along with community-focused initiatives like building noon-meal centers, toilets for underprivileged girl students, and schools for children of leprosy-afflicted patients. Architect Ponni’s dedication to improving lives through her designs highlights her commitment to both professional excellence and social responsibility.
